Shin_chan, I'm soooooooo happy for you! There are only a few moments in life that is truly wonderful. The ones that touch your soul! That must be on the top of your list! I know it would be on mine! I'm so glad you went, and I really happy that you shared your experience in such detail. Thank you. I could actually visualize everything that took place. Can you describe his hands? Were they warm, cold, tell me about the size, are they soft?

It's really like a dream come true!!!SMAP hasn't been doing such hand shake sessions for like........i don't know.But as i read what you wrote,i can literally imagine how it was.I'm really happy for you Shin!!!! I am so exciting about all these!!! When I heard Shingo HAD hand shake with all fans in the video party, I almost fainted!!! i want thinking that you and pams finally made the dream come true! I am so glad that you went!!!!!
I've read some report from other forums too. They were all "death by Shingo Katori"
I am so happy that he loooked into each fan's eyes. In concert, it's rarely I heard that fans have eye contact with him. And he looked at each fan there.... so yasashii.... I love him so much.

This is the mini-van that ferried Shingo around Taipei...
I took this while waiting for him after the hand-shake session. It was raining & bloodly cold... The doors are on the other side...
Micchi went to Taipei as well so she shared this with Shingo... Quite strange seeing her climb up this van! Hahaha!!

Oi oi oi! I saw that women getting into the van with him. I was so hoping she was a translator and someone like that.... breathe a sigh of relief! Anyway, I'm been trying to fight it off for the past 3 days! I just gave in when I saw the last pics in the suit! That's it, I'm done, cooked, finished, over. Head over hills infatuated with Shingo! At Taipei Airport
After breakfast, we rushed to the combini and bought like 3kgs of newspapers each!! Everyone must have thought we were mad! Shingo was on every newspaper since he arrived except those financial & business times... We went back to the room and sorted out the papers... then threw away like 2.9kgs worth of unread newspapers... I've actually scanned all of them already but I made the size too large so when I tried to minimize, it bacame blur. I'll scan them all again soon so I can upload them.
Shingo was scheduled to leave Taipei on the 1pm flight but he changed it on the 24th... The change in flight schedule was not announced.... I don't know how our friends knew... They just told us and we didn't ask... I was jumping up and down already cos our flight was at 3:20pm... I was so bummed at first when I read that he was leaving at 1plus cos I woun't be able to check in so early.... But with some luck, Shingo changed his to 3:05pm... Which means that it was perfect timing cos we could be inside the check-in area with him!!
We arrived at the airport at about 12:30pm. Our friends were already there... So we sat around and exchanged SMAP stories... They mostly wanted to hear about meeting Takuya in KL a year ago! Hahaha! At around 1:30pm Pams & I went to check-in. When we got back, the fans were already all lined up outside the customs area... Shingo didn't have to check-in as it would have been done privately for him. We quickly rushed there to join minna... I got my Uchiwa out again & wished that Shingo remembers us... The our Taiwanese friends suggested that we go inside the glass area & not stand with minna... If we're inside then we get to be with Shingo... I was actually planning on walking in "with" him but I guess standing inside wataching him was good too.. But at that time, when your heart is beating and you're in a mild state of panic... whatever! We realised that we didn't take any pictures yet so we hurriedly took a group photo...
The funniest thing happened... We took out things and we had to walk in the 'pathway' made by the fans into the customs area... We turned to wave bye bye to our Taiwanese fans and suddenly, EVERYONE started bye-byeing to us!!! WHAHAHAHAHAH!!! I got a big shock! We had to then wave and smile and bye bue to everyone in the crowd! It was hilarious!!! It felt like we were the stars for 2 mins!! This lady grabbed me as I handed my passport to the inspector and started emotionally yelling things at me while grabbing my arm... I presume its like gambatte with Shingo or something... I didn't get what language she was speaking... OMG! It was funny!!! But minna were sooo sweet & cheering us on!! So there we were inside... Now what... I proceeded to line up then decided not too.. We wondered if we were allowed to hang around that area but since no one stopped us, we just stood there quietly... There was a group of Japanese tourists freaking out when they realised that Shingo was coming... Lucky them!
In less than 2 mins, Shingo appeared from the left side... Everyone screamed and waved.... He was wearing a black long-sleeve tee with a silver skull, a black straw hat with rows of sequins around... And this really nice pair of jeans with the legs tucked into boots! HOLY GOD! He was sooooo kakoii... He wasn't as genki as he was when he flew in to Taipei... But he was still cheerful... As he walked past the passport inspector, there I was with Pams... He looked at me then at my uchiwa which screamed "Singapore".... but he didn't have any particular expression... Oh crap! But I was so close I didn't care about anything... Then he went to queue up like any other traveller for customs to stamp his passport... I wanted to stand behind him but his queue was long... I spotted a shorter queue to the left and quicky ran there....
Just as I was about to 'join' the queue... Suddenly Shingo took a big step and popped in front of me!!!!
I jumped to a halt and went "EH!!" I stood there in disbelief for a moment...
Katori Shingo just cut my queue!!!! Huh !!?? 
OK... He so knew I there!!! Fine... I got in line behind him... Of course I made the most of it... I stared.... From his hat to his hair to his back to his butt.... butt... butt.... I wondered what jeans he was wearing... Were they vintage Levi's??? There was the red tag but it was all worn... There wasn't those stiches on the back pocket... His butt was so small.... I don't think I got past the butt.... Oh I did... for a brief moment... to look at his boots.... He's so tall... *scream*
While standing in line, Shingo turned around and waved to minna bihind him... Pams was busy trying to take pictures so she wasn't in the queue... But she did join in front of me after Shingo walked thru... Ahhhhhh!!! I forgot to look at his passport!!! Grrrr.... SHIT!!! WHAT A FOOL! Now I have an official stamp in my passport that stamped Shingo's passport then mine... YAY!!! Cheap thrill but I love it! HAH!
(Newbies: We were allowed to take photos in Taiwan for some reason... But pls note that it is NOT ALLOWED in Japan)
So Shingo proceeded to the X-ray scan while had my passport stamped... Then he went upstairs to the JAL Lounge. I didn't realise till later but I actully squeezed past Micchi to get past the X-ray scan!! Oops! OMG!! I was worried for a while!!! When she came up the stairs and passed me, I lightly bowed at her! I won't want to get into the black books of this lady!!! OK, this is tough... There's a long corridor outside the lounge and along this corridor was other airline lounges & restarants... JAL's lounge was the first one up the stairs... Facing all these, was a glass window that looks down on the passport check & customs area... So standing up there or walking along that corridor, you could look down where all the fans were. So we hovered outside waiting for him... Going down the opp flight of stairs, we walked to his gate to check out the distance and planned out route back to our own gate to board our plane... I tried to stay close to the wall side so that all the fans down below can't see me cos I'd feel shitty if I were there and there they were with Shingo...
Just as we walked back into that corridor, there was a smoking room... It's at the far end opp the JAL lounge. Pams asked me if I wanted to have a smoke... I said no... what if Shingo comes out... Pams & I figured that he would be able to smoke inside the lounge... I presumed there was a smoking area in there.... So there we were standing there... And suddenly, there was a fuss outside the JAL lounge... The female personnel said to another in mandarin that "He wanted to go there himself" then out came Shingo!!! Eeeeks!! I wasn't prepared... We wondered where he was going... So he walked the long corridor, looked down and waved at the fans... So sweet... Then he walked... at one point, he turned his head to specifically looked back at us... I quickly turned and looked away... Like DUH!!! As if I wasn't staring! I felt silly and funny at the same time!!! He walked into the smoking room!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAHHHHHH!!! I wanted to smash the glass and jump down!!! If I had been inside smoking and he came in.... HOLY SMOKES!!!!!! AHHHHH!!!! KILL ME!!!!! WHY DIDN'T I WANT A CIG at that time!! There were only a bunch of chairs in that little room so I couldn't have possibly went inside while he was there... I'd most prob get an I-know-what-you're-up-to frown!! Hahaha! So bollocks of bollocks! I had to wait outside... Oh man... I kept thinking what it'll be like if I was sitting in there and he came in... I so might have had a conversation with him!!! BIG MISTAKE!!! ARRRRHHHHHGGGGG!!!!
So since I couldn't go in, I decided to sneak a peak... I walked past... And DAMN, Shingo turned and looked... His face had this BIG grin as he was in mid-conversation with the staff who went in with him... Okies shin... you've done it... I felt so silly!! I rolled my eyes at myself!! Plus, I was stuck on the other side of the corridor!! Shingo was in there for a good 10-15 mins... He must have had a couple of sticks... He then came out and walked back to the lounge... As he walked, he peered downstairs.... many of the fans were gone... I guess they thought Shingo had left... It has been an hr or so since he arrived... He walked with his face to the glass with this little lost boy look on his face... Soooo cute... We were behind him... I think he was getting used to it!! I mean, we didn't bother him or fussed... we just walked... hehehe!!!
I went for my own cigg break... & no I did not pick out his cig butt from the ashtray!!! At 2:50pm... Pams gestured me to get out of the smoking room... I dashed out and staff-tachi had all came out... Micchi too... Then Shingo appeared.... They walked towards us (we were at the other end remember) and my tummy was all in knots!!! THIS IS THE TIME SHIN!!!! NOW!!!!
As Shingo passed.... I said loudly to him "THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!!"
He turned slightly at me & gave a closed-lipped smile.... then.....
Shingo mouthed very clearly in English "THANK YOU"
OHMYGOD!!!  I died all over again!!! I love you so much Shingo!! You're really an angel....
As I stood there with my mouth opened in shock... looking at him walk away...
He was about 5 steps away when he suddenly turned half waist, face in a smile, swung his right arm up in the air.....
and WAVED at us!!!!
*SCREAM* AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!!!!
Just when I thought it couldn't bet better!!!!!! Shingo just had to give you that something extra....
I broke into the biggest smile ever & shouted out loud " HONTONI ARIGATOUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!! "
He dropped his arm and went down the stairs... I was in heaven.... Shingo is just the nicest and the most yasashii... How nice and amazing can you be! After all, we were practically stalking him from behind the whole time since he arrived!!!
I didn't want to bother him anymore... We let him walk a distance before we trailed him to his gates... About 7-8 mins walk away... He didn't know that we were watching... They went into the gates, gave his bording pass to the ground staff....
As he went into the plane... I whispered to myself "Bye bye Shingo" and he disappeared.... *sniff*
It was all over... We ran like crazy back to our gate... we reached just we we saw the last 2 passenges going in... Phew!! Made it...
But we more than made it...

I liked SMAP for a long time now but through out the years, Shingo was never been a favorite. Infact, out of all the members, I try to not pay any attention to Shingo. I know. HORRID fan, I'm! But I really didn't like him, but after reading this. You encounter and the tawian news reports, I think he is just so BAD ASS to take a simple PR trip and turn it into a meet and greet! I have to say I was impressed by what how he took charge and did the meet and greet and took the time to shake all the fans hands. HOLY HELL. That is so awesome. I actually got a little teary eyed as I read your report, I'm so glad that the two of you got to meet Shingo and were able to have such great seats and just... WOW. It's seriously a chance of a lifetime.
And I've been just sitting here like an idiot and grinning about Shingo. I never knew he was so cool and just... He seems to really love the fans! I really laughed at how he wasn't aware both Kinki and V6 did concerts in Tawian, (haha! SHINGO! Got pwned!) And it sounds like the fans were in such full force! I hope Shingo goes home and tells the other's all about it! They NEED to do a concert in Tawian. Hell, they need to do a concert, EVERYWHERE!
I guess after all this, I got a little more respect for Shingo and I'm really liking him right now.

Shin_chan and Pams,
I really do not know what to say. I am so happy for both of you. Not only did you get to shake Shingo's hand, you were sooooo , soooooo close to him, and you get to talk to him!!!. Both of you must have done really good deeds in your present lives and past lives to have such a great reward. You get to meet Takuya and talk to him a year ago and now with Shingo. Who is next? P-Chan had her chance to be so close to Goro, may be the next time will be Nakai and Tsuyopon?
I am also touched by the kindness shown by Taiwanese fans to you. Do they happen to be the so called "TTers" in a Chinese bbs?
Oh, Shin-chan, I just had a thought.... I highly suspected that Shingo "cut your queue" on purpose...he had just noticed your uchiwa, so he decided to give you an extra service....yes, that must be it!

Shin_chan! How amazing is that! You were so close to him! YOU ARE A WOMAN OF GREAT RESTRAINT! Could you smell him? I would have eased up to smell him. I know I'm chobaka! He's a wonderful wonderful wonderful man. What a kind, sweet spirit Shingo has! I've always known that but WOW to have it confirmed it really awesome. He knew you guys were following him and he still was sweet about it! That is so touching.....
I was thinking about his visit from a different perspective. Shingo was also spreading goodwill between the countries. By him going there and being absolutely wonderful, he's changed the minds of many people not just the fans that was there. Our wonderful baby was like an ambassador.
OK, now here comes the honorary member of SXSXS.....YOU COULD HAVE GRABBED HIS BUTT! THUD! You said his butt is small..... Shingo has a little butt! Please tell me it's at least a hand full! He's got to have a grabbable/pinchable butt! All his nude pics show a wonderful tasty-looking butt!

Yes some of them are called TTers... (I think) I'm not so sure as I can't read Chinese so I can't go to Chinese boards...

Yes, yes..yes... one girl who is wearing a 0524 yellow t-shirt approached me and asked me whether I'm from TT.... and straight away i told her " I"M NOT.... Hontouni gomenasai.... I'm so lost...because i don't know which board i should consider myself...hahahaha....and because i'm waiting for another group of girls who are from another chinese bbs board..so i took it as i'm not from TT...hehehe...... At that moment, It didn't come to my mind that the group that i'm waiting might also be from TT...These regulars usually will go to these few popular chinese bbs boards too.

Shing chan and Pams
just visited the TT board. Yes, one of the members said that she is very happy that she met 2 Singaporean fans at the party! Yes, they visit all the Chinese boards, so it is hard to "categorize" them into a particular board.
I still think Shingo gave you an extra serbice....at least, both of you have left an impression on Shingo. I am sure that he remembers you. And you have been such good fans that you did not disturb him at all. I am sure he will tell the members that they have fans in Singapore and they are so well behaved.
...now, I am beginning to imagine how it will be like when he "compare notes" with Takuya....and end up ehhh? Same people? at KL and Taiwan but not Singapore? poor girls, since they are so nice, we shall visit Singapore....ha ha ha, I shall dream on.

I don't think that was very normal for him!! He must be thinking these 2 crazy girls... And wonder what we really wanted with him... We didn't take pictures in front of him... ask for autograph... nothing!!!

Shingo is mighty fine... He's super duper kakoii... face, body, outfit... everything... His butt just just right don't you worry... Small... but perky! Hehehe... I said small cos in photos, he's a little plump... but he was totally svelte when he visited Taiwan. Even those pictures taken of him there showed him chubbier than how he was... I've seen Shingo in Japan many times in all sizes but this has got to be one of his skinnier one...
About his hands... They are big... It was cold in Taipei so they weren't particularly warm... I mean, it's not cold...it's just ok. But his hands totally engulfs yours... And he was so nice... He used both hands to hold yours... I have this thing about people doing that because it's giving their full respect to you kind of thing. I respect people a lot when they do that... Even more so for Shingo. He looks you straight into the eye *dies* while he was shaking your hands...
I read on other websites... everyone's talking about this same thing... Like what I mentioned in my report... That feeling you get from him... The sincerity spweing out just by looking straight into you... I cannot properly describe it but minna there felt it... It's amazing to give this kind of warmth to 900 people... It's like this lightning bolt that shoots into you... it's magical...
Shingo takes your right hand in both his hands... so naturally, your left hand will hold over his right hand on the outside... I had my uchiwa which I almost wanted to throw away at that time cos I only had 3 fingers on his hands! Arrg! OK. I'm not complaining...
Let's pray and hope that this is a beginning to more things from SMAP... Shingo may have dug out the trend for SMAP to have meet-the-fans or hand-shake sessions again... something which we all thought was lost for years...

Thank you, thank you, thank you Shin_chan! I'm so in tears! I can't imagine what that was really like to really admires someone for being so wonderful and then to really find out it's true. I'm so happy you went! I'm so happy that you shared all these details of him with us! I'M A MUSHY MESS RIGHT NOW. Just thinking about him being soooooo sweet melts my heart! I've said this before but I love his hands! The are huge and wonderful. He must be really working out! I'd like to see him now in his pantsu! He's probably ........THUD! SCREAM! ahahahahahaha! I go from one extreme to the other!
A handshake session or such would be a dream come true! Or God knows I would love a special ticket sale and section for the foreign fans! That would be so KAKOII!

OMG!!! i can't believe it!!! shin_chan and pams, you two have got to be the luckiest girls in the world...and the other 898 people i guess...thank you for your wonderful writing, i felt the same excitement as you and pams!!! shingo chan is sooo SWEEET!!!! but i really didn't expect anything less from him...he has always struck me as someone who really do cherish what he does and he sincerely loves his fans...i think that is the one quality in shingo chan that i love the most...i'm so happy for the two of you....it's definitely once in a lifetime experience...when the two of you are like obachans, you can look back to that day and say that you've lived a great life ne....hehehee

SHIN, thanks a lot for that account. Isn't it great to be a fan of someone who is honti ni yasashi and not just a put on? I know our boys have bad days too but from their eyes and the way they look at fans, they are simply good people. I'm so happy that your dream has come true. You made our dream come true by being there and telling us about it in detail.
