how to cut out clips....
01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12, 13
But the edited clip is way big... in mpg format.... so have to scale the bitrate, resolution ,etc.
For screencaps, I use Windows Movie Maker...

Hahaha! I've been handling with DVD recently also. Anyway, I convert the DVD format to avi or wmv (tt's what the prog provides only). But i usually use avi since it's clearer. Than cut & edit as usual... Screencap, i dunno.. but i think it's the same theory??

Sorry, I just saw this topic.
About how to rip DVD files, I use Fairuse Wizard www.fairusewizard.com , it's quite easy and work! (the program is also not too big compare to Adobe premiere or others.) Using Fairuse, your DVD will turn to .avi format, and then you can modify it into mpeg by TMPEG, or use VCD Cutter to cut part of the .avi file into mp3 or MPG format.
You can try Fairuse's Light Edition, it's free 
I am uploading VCD Cutter for my friend, you can use this link. Don't have to install anything, just click to .exe icon and you will have unlimited work. DO NOT copy the shortcut to other places, coz it'll change to the unregistered version and you'll allow cutting for only 7 sec.

Thanks for your suggestions minna... demo... I thought afterdawn sounded a bit hard to use so I DLed fairusewizard... But it won't let me cos it's a protected DVD. The silly security code to prevent... err... me doing this! HHAHAHA!
So what do I do now?? Any of you have ripped official SMAP DVDs? Cos those are protected... How did you do it?

What concerts do you need ripped? Because I have the at least the last 3 of them ripped in AVI.

Hi Vanessa... Thank you for your reply & generosity... Some of the Spore SMAPpies have them in VCDs so I could borrow from them...
All my concerts of SMAP are in DVD so I can't make any fanvids out of them... Which is why I wanted to learn how to do it...
Even their movies and some dramas as well... I have them in DVD but it's impossible, well, to me at least to make any clips out of them...
