i heard abt this news yesterday... my fren was watching a chinese entertainment news channel (starhub #56) but she doesnt know mandarin and called me when there were countless mentions of li huen (divorce) and pictures of takuya n kudo plastered all over the screen.
I didnt know if I shld believe that. strange, a part of me feels happy... the other part is I hate myself for being happy. Going thru a divorce is very unpleasant esp for the kids. My parents split when I was 9 and its really horrrible... took me years to finally get over it. ANYWAY, i was googling the info and coming to this forum to find out if its true.
Goryman - totally agree wf u! Kudo shld be locked up in mental hospital if she actually cheated on Takuya! Like who in the right mind??!! I mean, dun even say you are insecure cos you've ready had 2 kids with the man! I will join u to smack the lady. U take the right cheek and i take the left.

This was translated by someone (Kimurafan) who reads chinese. She posted about 10 links of this article and give a brief history.
According to the press, the couple has been rumored not to be in good shape relationship wise since summer this year. But like all rumors, it soon died down.
But on December 30, 2005, all major media received the news that Kimura and Shizuka has divorced. The news struck on Dec 30 and that's why when Kimura appeared at the year end shows, he looked very grave.
Sports Weekly to which Johnny Entertainment is very friendly, has already finished an exclusive interview with Kimura for the year end. But when this news came about, they sent people to interview Kimura at once who was rehearsing at NHK and JE said, "It's not possible that they divorce."
Soon after, the rumor died.
Then recently, two magazines published an article on the rumor again. The magazines were 周刊文春 Spring Culture Weekly (or something like that) and 周刊新潮 Fashion Weekly.
The article said that the four reasons were:
1. Shizuka has been seen often with another/other male friends walking around 代官山、廣尾.
2. Kimura and Shizuka have not gone to surfing this summer which is their annual trip. This could be a sign of problem.
3. After the passing of Shizuka's father, Shizuka and her mother has control over how to raise the kids and Kimura felt alienated.
4. Shizuka has been telling her friends at the English school where she is taking classes that she really wants to return to show biz. But Kimura believes that her priority should be the family and only allows her to appear in a few night shows in a year. Shizuka has already started pursuing hotly for advertising jobs despite Kimura's disapproval and it appears that she wants to return to a full career.
The press speculated that when Kimura married, JE was not happy because he was the first one to break the tradition, to get married when he was at the peak of his career. But if Kimura divorces, JE would be very happy because once again, Kimura would become popular.
The press reminded the readers that just a while ago, a poll was conducted on the which couple the fans hope for a divorce and Kimura and his wife name was way on the top.

wow.. i don't know what to think. it seems more widespread and supported with evidence more than other rumors that die out over time, but JE did deny the fact that they're getting divorced.. it's sad to think that their marriage may have been rough lately, and that takuya and shizuka may be arguing with each other often. no one deserves an unhappy marriage, because of all the stress it causes. but if it's true that shizuka is [very stupidly!!!!] cheating on our dear takuya, it is best that takuya divorces her.
married or divorced- i don't care as long as takuya is satisfied and finds happiness. i just hope he will be able to fight the stress and keep his peace of mind.

Actually what I had in mind was a full facial punch!  sheesh having read Megumi's post Im feeling like this could really be true..she wants a career we all know that but at what cost? Maybe things ARE bad between them if she thinks it worth the sacrifiice- come to think of it smap lurver we wont need to smack her on her face she'll fall flat on it anyways he!he! If it is true I hope he'll come out of it okay and his kids too.

Actually i also read this news on my local chinese newspaper too.I was kinda shock,and i re-read everything twice...JUST TO CONFIRM what i was reading.It's really shocking,especially when i read on the reasons why they might divorce...which is Shizuka was seen being with other guys other than Takuya. 5 years relationship?Like this?!
I told one of my friend about it [Though she's not a jap freak like me,but she knows Takuya.],and she commented "Come on!You have the cutest husband on earth!!!" I definately agree with her.
Well,whatever it is,i just hope that Takuya is fine with his life now.I just wanna see that carefree Takuya i always see.

Regardless of the truth, I still feel for Takuya as the Chinese Press has already made a big fiesta out of the rumor. The quiet in Japan to me seem just like a volcano waiting to erupt. When that paper with the signature and stamp is submitted to the courts, it becomes a public document desho? If I was a reporter that would be the first place I'd check...maybe someone did but could not report it as fact because no announcement was made by both parties involved. Terribly sad...

ok. im torn between my emotions. i shldnt gloat over what may happen. yes, married or divorce it shldnt matter, what matters is that takuya is truly happy. Not as if he would come my way anyway if he's single..pls god pls god!

To be honest, I'm one of those who always want him to divorce.
BUT... if it'll really comes true.... dunno what to say. At the first time when I heard this news from my Chinese friend [she gave me this link http://ent.qq.com/a/20060113/000063.htm ] I was shocked!!!!!

be frankly, the first impression when i read the news, which is very positive (happy) in the first few second, but think more, the most important which is whether Kimura-kun's feeling. i hope he can sucess in his career, family and life. being an all-round top artist, husband and father. Of course i hope he will have a successful marriage and enjoy his days with family. somehow, i hope the media won't step over too much to his private life, top artist is also human, even thur the public or fans would like to know more, but still give him some free space and privacy.
Even thur i feel, Shizuka set him up unpopularly, Kimura-kun traded off alot in this marriage, as fans, will respect whatever decisions he made. I just hope Kimura will have a good time.

Hmmm....as much as I do want a divorce between those two, I feel that the media is going a bit far in conducting a poll for fans about which couples they want divorced!!! Everyone should have an equal chance at happiness, and it saddens me that Kimura (not to mention other idols) has to face so much naysayers all the time, as if he doesn't have enough stress to deal with already. It's tough to hang on to a marriage when there are oppositions all around...I would hate to be surrounded by ones who condemn my own relationships, no matter how rocky things are.
I agree with ashmi...I can only give him my heartfelt support and hope that whatever happens, he'll be happy.

Hmmmm lets see....I always had this thought that their marriage won't last?.....I'm very neutral about this cos I believe that if its meant to be yours, it will be........if not, say bye and life has to go on....thats basically it...Why I say their marriage wont last?....well if you look at it the horoscope way, with just one sentence to describe Scorpion-Aries relationship?

i'm a new takuya kimura fan and has come to accept the fact that the person i "love" and admire is married...and now this news?!?!
well, its really heartbreaking especially because we know how much kimura-kun values his family.

ah i read about this gossip recently too....to me, when i met takuya kun, he was already married, so i've always known him to have a family....i just want him to be happy...and if things are really not working out for him and his wife, that's really sad...i can't even imagine how it is to have such a HOT husband where every woman in japan would want him....and his 2 daughters....his job is so demanding, i wonder how much time he's got to spend with his family....although i don't really like his wife much, i think it must be really hard for her too....
i just hope this is just a gossip...because i don't want to see my takkun sad....

Ok, of course this is JUST rumour like everything else reported so far but Japan Today which is an online news resourse in English and generally respected has a report entitled 'Kudo-Kimtaku Divorce buzz.' It states that she is having an affair with her ENGLISH TEACHER!!!!!!!! Apparently she had to take english lessons to be accepted onto the PTA of Kokomis American Kindergarten and one thing led to another... Takuya later discovered it and no longer takes his daughter to school He used to take her EVERYDAY bless him.
Johnnys has said its not true and that they are "..nowhere near getting divorced.." I guess we will see..

I read that article or one of them! I have question though, it mention that Takuya was still driving a hummer. I thought he was driving something else now? Her agency also denies that she's taking english lessons. You know I really don't care either way but I think that some of this stuff is just off the wall. I did say some of this stuff right....
Anyway, I read that on new years, his crest was fallen. What does that mean?

Crest fallen means down hearted and basically miserable.
You know I had the thought that whether all these rumours are true or not, its amazing that its taken this long for them to appear. He is the hottest guy in Japan and their marraige created a lot of jealousy. Its not far fetched to expect some reporter who has a beef with either of them to spread rumours. Maybe they have tried before but Johnnys were on it and this time they werent. Just a thought. In The UK the press mentality is to rip celeb couples to shreds on a daily basis, japan is obviously more respectful. Yeah I forgot to add that Shizuka denies even TAKING english lessons so probably B.S.

I've heard of these rumors at Taiwan. Better don't trust these kind of "news". Remember what they've said last year about Shingo getting married and his girlfriend being pregnant? None of that was true.
Anyway, she'd be insane to cheat on Takuya. Who else do you need when you've got him???

anyways, i just hope that everything will fall into place...building a family alone is hard...however, building it amidst all the attention and all those other things that comes with being famous...well i can't imagine how hard it is for them...

well, it's no doubt that the couple are having troubles, just like any other couple... however, the main thing is how determined are they to keep their relationship and family together, it has to be both their family and their relationship, not necessarily in that order... if they will stick it out just for the sake of the children, that would be too shallow a reason... bottomline is, both have to make sure that their family and their relationship as hysband and wife is the top priority in order to face whatever hurdles may come along the way... still wishing them good vibe and may they have peace of mind... i'm for takuya's happiness, that's it!

Ermmm...im kinda in a rush now so I just glanced thru all your post once....and erm basically for me..staying together or dicvorce...im for anything..not because I'm not really a fan but we cant control anything and we dont really know whats the best option for them either right?..of course we know for the kids..staying together is their best option...
I read that some of you said "She must be insane to cheat on him..." and blah blah blah... he may be perfect and the best option for us, fans...but it may not be the same for everyone in general....you know..that kinda thing?.....Okay I hope I din crap too much or something cos im in a rush so I wont even really bother to check for errors and whatnots.....
ALL I JUST WANT IS OFFICIAL NEWS TO DETERMINE IF THIS RUMOUR IS TRUE.....thats all....its just kinda agonising to see something big pop up and then anxiously wait for some kinda signal that will never come.....

Yup, I think we all appreciate that we DONT know him completely and as Ive said before, who knows what goes on behind closed doors? What we all pretty much expressed is a desire to see him and his children happy and settled. I'm hoping this is just a rumour because I wanna believe he IS happy. It seems that the divorce saga continues.. A local magazine (U weekly) ran a short column in this week's edition abt Takuya selling a plot of land. I briefly translated the article below:

Once labelled the couple least likely to divorce in Japan's entertainment industry, Kimura Takuya & Shizuka Kudo have recently been plagued with rumours of an impending divorce. Recently, there are new rumours that Takuya is selling his villa.
It is rumoured that the couple's love turned sour when Shizuka strayed with her English tutor. Takuya' s selling of the villa appears to be another confirmation of the rumour.
Since the end of last year, the Japanese entertainment industry circulated the rumour that Takuya & Shizuka's 5 yr marriage was shifting. Apparently, Takuya had spent 6 bilion yen in 2004 to purchase land title in Tokyo's high-end residential estate. He had plans to build a 4 storey luxurious villa & convert it into a plush palace for his 2 daughters. Recently, an internet website reported that Takuya was very particular abt the design of the villa. In addition, his shaky marraige prompted him to consider selling off the villa.
Since the rumours broke out, the couple's agents have respecitvely asserted that they would "absolutely never divorce". Shizuka herself told reporters that a divorce was "impossible". Ironically, while the Kimuras are struggling to maintain their marriage, many online fans support their divorce & hope that Takuya can regain his status as a bachelor.
I tried to find online reports of this news but I couldn't. I have doubt abt how true this news is as I have yet to see it reported anywhere else. Maybe anyone who has more confirmation of it may like to post up here?
Personally, I hope he stays in the marriage. If not for anything else, let it be for the sake of his 2 princesses. Every child needs their father & I believe Takuya is a very doting father. I will personally feel very sad if the kids are to lose having their father around everyday. If we love Takuya for who he is based on the public knowledge we have abt him, how much more his own flesh & blood who have enjoyed his parenting...
Besides, Takuya Papa is every bit as charming as Takuya Bachelor, perhaps even more. I personally feel he has grown so much more mature since he became a father
