Thanks ashmi. It reminded me that I've actually scanned this picture quite sometime ago.... and wanted to put this picture since Shin has unlock this thread.....
Yes... it was report on the 1March 週刊女性 issue.
On 3 Feb 2005 morning.... after Takuya had finished recording his WUS programme, he brought his two daughters to the nearby temple for this festival.... Later in the evening....at about 6.30pm he came home with two big packets... It said...he is celebrating mitsuki's birthday too...
One of the neighbour said that because the area they staying is a private estate.... therefore it really very quite.... they can hear the 2 daughters and Takuya's' genki voice very clearly..... Takuya and the daughters were shouting and laughing....the whole 撒豆驅鬼 thing last for abt 30min in his garden......
ii na.. no matter how busy he is... he will definitely spend his time with his two kawaii daughters... Shiawasei......

He sounds like a good daddy eh. Was his wife there? no mention of her maybe just a daddy thing? I have not heard of this festival before I should ask my hubby why he doesnt do this!!! Would love to see a pic with him and his daughters but I suspect he is SO careful about their privacy. Thanks for the story so cute.

When i saw the pic, i was staring at it for a few good seconds and i just can't figure out what attracted takuya to her, well i mean physically *scrolls back to the pics* nahhh, she's just too simple....and you're right, Megumi_san, she must have something that we can't understand and will prolly never comprehend that made takuya stick with her...oh well, i just hope she would take care of his kids, oh ok 'their' kids...ha ha ha!

My opinion is quite different. I see Kudo as pretty just like any ordinary girl. She is by no means plain because PLAIN is like most of us desho? Because if she is plain then many of us would be classified as ugly! Mwahahahaha!!!!  The operative word here is ordinary.
I admire Takuya as he seem to be the type that does not go for glam girls who will just be trophy wives. By choosing an ordinary girl to be his life partner <we'll see about the 'life' part>  hehehe.... seriously, he gives us a glimpse that he is not a shallow person, that he can balance beauty..well pretty and substance. And that's exactly WHY gazilions of us are fantasizing about him!

I agree, I think she looks OK and I'm glad too to see Takuya with someone who is not a 'trophy wife'. I wouldn't like seeing him with a beautiful woman, only going to a lot of parties and stuff.
I think his wifelooks like a sweet and caring person. I wouldn't say she looks plain on the magazine scans, it sounds a bit negative.. I agree on saying she looks ordinary on those scans. But I do think she can look really beautiful, when she has make-up on for example. It just depends on how she is photographed I think.

I don't think plain is ugly.... I think plain is nothing outstanding.....ordinary. Everyone has something that is beautiful about them. I'm sure he found something about her or he wouldn't have married her but I also read that he had just broke up with his girlfriend of 9 years just one year earlier. This kinda stuff is usually a rebound kinda thing but he's staying and he says he really loves her so I admire him for that. But you're right about the 'life' part ahahahahaha! I read that when he made the announcement you could here hearts breaking all over the world! God forbid! but if they divorce someday we'll probably here women shouting for joy! I wish them both luck!

actually, i too think she is pretty in a quiet way. my dad liked Kudo Shizuka [as a singer] when she was young.  and now, he prefers my mom to have that traditional look of straight, black hair instead of her dyed brown [which i personally think is prettier]. kudo shizuka has that traditional, sweet and caring look. maybe it doesn't suit that modern, flingy look, but i never thought she looked ordinary or plain.

I think the girls call him otousan. He's mentioned before that he wants it to bring them up like how he was brought up - Strict & traditional were part of it. So he said he wants them to call him Otousan not papa...

Hee, hee, haa, haa...Shin-chan - you crack me up with "laughter".....  ....Those pics of "Hayashi Yoshiki" are a sight to behold....
Well, here's my take on "Shizuka-Takuya".....They seem to like the "bigger things" in life....From what I've seen posted here, he likes "big American" cars/vans, she has liked/was involved with men like "X-Japan leader Hayashi Yoshiki" who attracts "big attention"....She seems to have a "way" with men as evidently, she has "qualities" that men like Hayashi and Takuya find appealing....Anyway, I think she's pretty and attractive in her own ways....With proper makeup to enhance her features, she can be "beautiful".....
Although Takuya comes across as "modern-naughty-seductive-handsome", he is probably a "traditional/modern-caring-intelligent-intuitive" man attracted to a "pretty-caring-supportive-witty" woman like Shizuka....She seems to defer to Takuya wearing his logo and other things associated with him....I wouldn't be surprise that it was his idea to get that "tatoo" on her lower back....Although she puts Takuya and their children as her "high" priorities, I'm hoping she's leaving some time to care for herself (spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, etc....)...It mustn't be easy being Mrs. Takuya Kimura being scutinized while constantly in the public arena....Although, with her being a professional singer, she is use to being a "public figure" in the Japanese media which comes with the territory when one chooses a career in the public forum be it an entertainer, writer, director, politician, entrepreneur, etc....
Where their marriage/relationship goes only Takuya and Shizuka and those who know them well know....With two little children involved, let's hope Kokomi and Mitsuki will always have "mommy and daddy" in their lives....

What I heard from my Japanese friend is that Shizuka has a history for going after the hottest guy at the period of time. After Yoshiki, she tried to go after Luna Sea's Ryuichi (the lead singer - I forgot his surname but its Kawa-something). But he turned down her advances. So she landed onto Takuya who was available after his breakup with Kaorin.

Do you all notice her knitted eyebrows....makes her look sorrowful. That's what's I find disturbing about her looks. I mean how do you speak love to that pair of eyes that are forever forlorn looking. Otherwise, her features aren't bad at all.

i'm sorry, i love xjapan, but i cant say anything about their looks or characters. yoshiki is a wonderful wonderful real TALENT. he writes songs, he plays the drums AND piano during Xjapan's concerts. i mean, X japan is like legendary.
but for a guy who wears make up all the time, i mean, gackt wears makeup all the time but how good looking is gackt! and how well applied is his make up!! yoshiki's is just a bit gross.
shizuka kodomo and yoshiki wear dating for quite long. in fact, in xjapan's last concert's dvd, in the thanks and contributions part, her name appeared too. in fact, i think they look alike.
just for those of you who dont know, shizuka kudo used to belong to this group called onyanko club. it's a group of girls and, well, perhaps morning musume is styled after them. they were really really popular, and even now, many of them are still on tv. i'm not very sure about this group, but anyway she won this contest to enter the group. apparently, takuya used to be a fan. i'm not sure about the facts, but i heard that takuya was dating kaorin for like 8~9 years. she's a little older than him too. they started dating before smap got big, and they were staying together i think. people used to see the two of them plus her mum in the supermarket. as smap got big, they had to stay home more, and she was at an age where most girls would want to get married, and he couldnt. apparently, they broke up after long talks.... he wanted her to be happy and yet he couldnt bring her out on dates or marry her. i also read that he fell into depression going home to an empty house. shortly after they broke up, kudo invited him to go surfing to cheer up.
months later she was pregnant and he made the most nervous speech of his life during concert to say he will be getting married.
and the rest is history.

Thanks P-Chan, I don't want to piss anybody off but this sounds like he got trapped. But I admire him even more now cuz he's standing up and being the man we all love. I have a greater respect for Takuya now! And btw....I was watching an old video the other night and realized I think Takuya is a bet of a closet freak! In the Dynamite my body (now you know I don't know the names of these songs right) he does this thing with his tongue that means (in the U.S.) that he's.....well..... lets say an oral guy What do you girls think?
