OMG!!!!!! Yatta!!!!! I finally saw the shots of "2046" just now.... Just happened to switch on my TV and was on this Cable channel 54 (TVBS). me quickly ran to my tape recorder and tape it....ha ha ha.... Although is a short one but he is sooooo kakoiii..... maybe about less than 10 sec on him lah... Saw Takuya and Faye Wong in this orange room, holding Faye wong's hand very close to his face.....
Anyway, he mentioned about going to Cannes in his WUS on 14 May 2004... He is soooo cute.... like a little boy shouting on his opening of WUS. This is how he started... "Wowwww....suke" and start clapping his hands very very loudly... and he continue ... "ame... haaaa haaa haaa" What a crazy man.... hee hee hee. He is so excited about going to Cannes... Ooh really hope they will telecast ....

I was just watching the news clip (which is just too indecently short) and wondering what I would do if I actually saw Takuya in an airport.
Not in know-he-is-there-so-I'm-there way but dream-come-true-coincidence way. I think I'll "accidentally" take the wrong plane. Muahahahahaha!!!

(1st) OMG!!!!!  ..... the hotel "Majestia Barriere" that Takuya is staaaaaying... the staff are all on STRIKE!!!!!! ....no choice, hotel got to find temp staff to continue operations.... (2nd) OMG!!!!! ..... "2046" tape could not arrived in time for preview therefore they have to cancel the preview and press conference section today. Argggh.... my poor darling.... he flew there soooo early leh... Why like that...

The strike was sooo planned!! They're doing it on purpose cos they know it's important dates!!! ARRGGG!!! Strikes are common in Australia too... It was part of my life in Sydney... But then, it was good cos we didn't have to go Uni!! Which was good. I just hope that the temp staff have good hospitality... Pls treat our Takuya nicely!!!
OK, the late tape is what I don't understand!!!

my god... CHO KAKKOII!!! he looks absolutely fantastic.. cannot stand it anymore!! going to faint... you know i was wondering.. he sounded so excited about going to cannes... like frm WUS and other programmes.. he was so excited, yet he seems so calm and composed during the red carpet.. wow!!!!!!!!!! maybe inside him his heart was thumping like mad!! wow.... i feel so happy for him!!!

Kimu fanssss... should we (T)oast Wong Kar Wai for bringing super daaahling Kimura to Cannes or should we (R)oast him for causing a bit of havoc with screening time for 2046?! ... or we can do both? LOL! Omoshiroi na... this Wong Kar Wai guy... :P
But seeing Kimura looking suuuuuuper purrrrfect on the red carpet ... kinda makes me forget everything else! Demo ne, my eyes are deceiving me or what...? Kimura looked juuuuust like the way he looked in the first Santaku (aired early 2003) to me..? Super kawaiiiii though! Daisukiiiii!

The Closing Weekend of the 57th Festival de Cannes : Saturday 22nd May and Sunday 23rd May 2004
For 2004, the Festival de Cannes is organising a closing weekend that will lift the end of the event to everybody's delight.
The weekend begins on Saturday 22nd May with the Award Ceremony, during which the Jury President, Quentin Tarantino, will announce the prizes. The awards ceremony and presentation will be followed by the international preview screening of a film. Fireworks will then signal the start of the Award Party which will climax with a live concert. Throughout the Awards Night, film fans will also be able to see or watch again all the films that were awarded a prize, as these will be screened in the Palais.
On Sunday 23rd May, the day will be dedicated to re-screening all the films of the official selection (Compétition, Un Certain Regard, Cinéfondation, Courts-métrages).
The Closing Ceremony will be exclusively dedicated to the Palme d'Or, as the Festival will end with the screening of the film that won the prize the previous day. For the first time, the film's representatives will be greeted by the Festival Jury at the top of the steps. The screening will be preceded by an arrangement depicting the best moments of the Festival 2004.

Since I'm doing the translation of the articles in sina's website for a friend these few days, I thought I'll post today's translations here as well as I think all of us wants to know about 2046's plot desho? Hah... I think I have never done this much translation for a long time already... Look at the number of articles for 2046 in Sina's website these 3 days...
Alright... Here comes the news as well as the plot summary~ ^_^

News
May 21~
The articles were basically talking about how 2046 has finally reached Cannes as well as how Wong felt when 2046 is being nominated. It also mentioned about Tony saying that the 2046 that they see in Cannes may not be the full film. The jury also mentioned that 2046 has a high chance of winning as none of the 17 films was good enough win the others. Only four movies were considered the ones that could 'block' 2046's way to winning.
May 22~
Results were out. 2046 received the highest score of 3.3 and among the jury, 3 gave a full 4 marks while the other 8 gave 3 marks. It was rare to see the jury being so generous in the giving of marks. Loud applause were heard when the premiere was over and Wong stood up and shook hands with the cast that were with him for the whole 5 years.
It was quoted that 2046 has a high chance of winning the prestigous movie award as well as the 'best director award' in Festival de Cannes. Tony Leung may have a chance to win the 'best actor award' as well.
During the press conference, when asked about Kimura, Wong said, "great courage was needed for someone like Kimura who was used to the Japanese way of filming to come into my world of fliming." Kimura has described this process as swmming where the first time he came across Wong's way of filming is like the feeling of seeing a swimming pool and then slowly learning on how to swim in that particular pool.
Plot
The opening scene is of Kimura telling Faye that he has a secret to tell her and asks her to leave with him and after that, narration starts(if i'm not wrong, Kimura does a fair lot of narration). It describes on how this train could bring its passengers back to 2046 and how Tony was the only one to come back from 2046. The story starts from the point where Tony and Maggie broke off in "in the mood for love" and how he fell in love with Gong Li who is acting as a apprentice for gambling in Singapore but she broke off with him as she refused to go back to hong kong with him. Upon Tony's return to hong kong, he stayed in room 2047 in Oriental Hotel and there, he started a relationship with Zhang Ziyi who is a hong kong nightclub girl in the but at that time, the hotel owner's daughter, Faye Wong was his crush and only love but a pity Faye already has a Japanese boyfriend(Kimura perhaps?) and this one-sided relationship of Tony's has to end. Tony wrote his 3 relationships into a novel and brings his own story into the world of Kimura Takuya and Faye who are both human robots. In other words, Kimura is actually Tony himself in the novel while Faye who is a robot is actually a combination of Ziyi, Gong Li and the hotel owner's daughter, Faye.
Maggie will only appear for a few moments before the story actually falls into the hands of Ziyi and half of the plot actually belongs to Tony and Ziyi. Tony's role is basically who tries to get rid of his past but the more he tried, the more he couldn't do so. Perhaps one day that piece of memory will leave him and then a new way of living starts again. Tony will be rejected by a woman first and then rejects another woman and thus, loses a chance to start anew. In the end, Tony makes not one but lots of mistakes and keep losing his chances without knowing it.
As Wong has always been a daring director, Tony, Ziyi, Zhang Zhen and Carina Lau have bold performances among which, both Zhang Zhen and Ziyi have daring scenes in bed as well as passionate kisses. As for the scenes between Zhang Zhen and Carina, it was being edited by Wong in the end and the actual scene in the movie was gone in a flash.

Thanks Orenji for the translation... Me also very busy searching and going to alot of websites for news on Takuya in Cannes this whole week... Arghh..... so tired and not enough sleep ..... Just watched a clip on this week smastation hosts by Shingo which they show a new on Takuya in Cannes... Shingo has a few reactions when he saw the new... Kawaii na Shingo.
Wong Kar Wai really knows how to say sweet thing ... he actually praised our Takuya soooo well ... This is how he called our dear Takuya... He called him "Tac" for short. This is what he said about our Takuya in the press conference....... " I think Tac is a very strong actor, because I think his training come from all parts of the entertainment business. He can SING, he can DANCE, he can FIGHT, he can ACT, He can do all sort of things.... and I hope this is the first movie that Tac tried for outside of Japan and I'm sure he would have a very good future with other foreign film makers....... "
