I love cut and paste :-) I said this on the CS board, but in case you don't hang out there...

It got 2.5 stars out of 5, and states that Takuya wasn't up to the job...he never stopped being Takuya. I've seen him not be Takuya in his dramas...his acting amazes me, so personally I doubt this is the case. Hater.

In 1998, Takuya took the role of Oda Nobunaga in TBS one off drama titled Oda Nobunaga.
In 2001,he also protray the role of Hirobe Yasube in Fuji's Chushingura 1/47.

Takuya got nominated for the Japanese Academy Award....but Johnny's turned it down for him!!! The reason they gave is that no one from the agency will join in such awards!!!!! @#$%^
ＳＭＡＰの木村拓哉（３４）が、第３０回日本アカデミー賞の優秀主演男優賞の受賞を辞退した。日本アカデミー賞協会が１９日、都内で行った各部門の優秀賞の発表会見で明らかにした。木村が主演した「武士の一分」は、作品賞など最多の１２部門で優秀賞を受け、ヒロインを演じた檀れい（３５）が新人俳優賞を受けるなど席巻したが、"完全制覇"にはならなかった。
同協会は、優秀賞発表後の補足説明で「木村拓哉さんは主演男優賞を辞退されました。所属事務所の方針で、最優秀賞をほかの人と競わせたくないとのことです」と明らかにした。日本アカデミー賞は協会員約４４００人の投票で、作品賞など正賞１５部門の優秀賞（各５作品または５人）と新人俳優賞（男女各３～５人）を決定。来年２月１６日に都内で行われる授賞式で、それぞれの最優秀賞が発表される。
同協会の事務局長を務める東宝映画社長の富山省吾氏は「ここ１週間の間に配給会社などを通じて（木村側に）打診をしたが、いい返事をもらえなかった。われわれとしては一緒に（授賞式の会場に敷かれる）レッドカーペットを歩いてほしかったが、事務所の見解は尊重すべきと判断した」と説明。「これまで"授賞式に出られず申し訳ない"などの理由で辞退した人はいたが、このような理由では前例がない」と困惑気味。主演男優賞は木村の辞退で次点の俳優が繰り上がった。
木村が所属するジャニーズ事務所は、９０年頃から音楽や映画などの賞レースから"撤退"。ＳＭＡＰは０３年に「世界に一つだけの花」が大ヒットし、日本レコード大賞の候補に挙がったが「歌詞の中にあるように"ナンバー１"を目指すよりも"オンリーワン"を大切に歌ってきた。そのメッセージを貫きたい」との理由でノミネートを辞退した。
「武士の一分」の優秀賞受賞は作品賞など１２部門で、「フラガール」（１０部門）を上回り最多。正賞外の新人俳優賞にも檀が選ばれ、対象外の外国作品賞、アニメーション作品賞を除くすべてを制覇する勢いだったが、主演男優賞だけ欠けた格好となった。
授賞式では関口宏（６３）と吉永小百合（６１）が司会を務めることになり、この日の発表会見にも参加した。

could it be that they're afraid that he wont win and it'd look bad .. hmm.. IMO it's already an honor that you get nominated, winning the prizes is a plus.. i dont understand what the Johnies is thinking! it's also a nice way to promote Kimura (even if he dont really need it). It's weird, really wierd!

Won't be involved in those awards? Was those words from the Jimusho? I'm so shocked, at first I thought Kimura didn't want it. Since I doubt he even listens to the adgency any more. But if it was their doing, I'm really sadden for Takuya. Can I easily say that the Jimusho is holding him back?

usouu~~~i'm really curious as to why Johnny's chose to withdraw Kimura's nomination....i wonder if Kimura is really upset about this....sometimes, i just don't understand the way Johnny's treat their idols...do they want their idols to stay idols forever??? and in reality, SMAP really should start exploring other venues other than being known as pop idols...at least i think so....i think SMAP has gone beyond the idol status...they've become icons...and being icons mean that they should be able to get acknowledged for their other works....it would have been really cool to see Kimura's name in the nomination list...he seems to have done such a great job with this movie and he really enjoyed the production...it's really a shame...

according to the article, in 03, smap released a single called sekai ni hitotsu dake no hana, and in the song there are these lyrics that says to aim for ONLY ONE instead of NUMBER ONE, so hence they withdrew him from the awards.
all i can say is..... wtf

Doesn't make sense... Then how about Cannes... Both Takuya for 2046 and Shingo went before, right? And Tsuyoshi went to the Korean awards ceremony as Chonon Kan, right? What is the agency trying to say? Stupid reason...

Well. for Cannes and Moscow, they didn;t go for PERSONAL award. Those are awards for best films or best producers etc.
that is true that none of the people from Johnny's nominated for a PERSONAL award in film award ceremony before (although i heard nino from arashi may be able to nominated for oscar or academy.... I hope they are not going to stop him too)
well, I don't know. Johnny's is famous in setting stupid rules.
i think (totally personal opinion) they just don't want him to lose and then all those stupid entertaining magazines will have crazy rumors all over the place. Well, but being nominated is very cool already. Iam happy just because of that.

hey guys, anyone going to see Bushi at HK Film Festival? premier is on march 27, trying to buy tix online at hkiff site now but site is soooo slow. does anyone know which day takuya is flying out to HK, i'm leaving tokes a couple days before that, hope to bump into him at narita. but also trying to get some premier press passes, crossing fingers!...yikes acessing the hk site in tokes was horrible, thankfully my hk buddy bought tix as a backup! let me know if any of you guys are coming!

There's no news at all about Takuya attending the film festival in HK. However,after I read Kawaii S' post, I did more surfing around for information.
Unfortunately, nothing still. Nothing on Johnny's net and nothing on the Bushi official website. I dun think even the director or other cast are going. It may be too early to judge,since there's still another month to go, but so far,nothing at all.

hey amamiya, thanks for surfing, that's yabai...i swear the rumors started somewhere, but perhaps they were only just that. i hope he does show, in fact there are lot of japanese movies this year. even Tamayama Tetsuji's Freesia is showing as well. but if there is any further news, hopefully you get some from an insider, please post onegai!

Bushi no Ichibun will be shown in Singapore from April 12th onwards. Saw the news in this week's local mag I-Weekly. There's a page on Bushi as well. =)
